Paul was recruited into the Lumen family in 1997, with Mark
homing in on the word on the audio grapevine about this exciting young engineer.
A graduate of the highly respected SAE college in London, Paul's engineering and
production styles epitomise what Lumen is all about, with one foot in the classic
recordings of the past, and one foot in the cutting edge techniques of today.
After cutting his teeth drumming for highly respected Brighton based
band Beesha, Paul moved into engineering, getting freelance experience at big
name studios such as Studio 125, Stanbridge Farm and Colossus, working with names
like Suede and These Animal Men. This combination of experience from 'both sides
of the desk' means Paul always understands the needs of the musician, and he is
a refreshing change from geeky button pressers on the one hand and technically
incompetent layabouts on the other. Now a vital cog in the Lumen engine, Paul's
expertise encompasses a vast range of all things music, from where to put a mic
to label related press matters. Beneath the calm exterior lies thirst for momentum
that means that your project will keep moving without you even noticing.
Outside of the studio, Paul runs a music production company that calls on all
his writing and mixing skills, as well as his famous powers of negotiation! A
genuine fan of music, and an avid listener first, engineer, producer and musical
all-rounder second, Paul creates the perfect atmosphere to put the life back into
your recordings.
