A hugely respected and well known figure in Brighton's music
scene, Mark began his journey to the reigns at Lumen back in his home turf in
the Midlands. Rubbing his teenage shoulders with the likes of Pop Will Eat Itself
gave Mark access to the fledgling world of sampling and home made recording techniques
that led to tinkerings and experimentations that began to satisfy his seemingless
endless musical curiosity.
His encyclopaedic musical knowledge isn't
constrained by genre or age, and his sprawling record collection spans anything
from Robert Johnson to the Strokes, picking up Jazz, Folk and Electronica along
the way. This varied approach explains the range of skills and tastes Mark expects
from his team at Lumen. As the ideological and practical head of operations at
Lumen, Mark's 'centre of excellence' concept has led to high profile clients
using Lumen time and time again on a huge variety of projects.
Mark is also in charge of acclaimed record label Lumenessence Recordings, on which he
has released and remixed under his Tiresias alter ego. He also imparts his wealth
of experience and knowledge to degree level music students at Northbrook College
in Worthing. The lynch pin of everything that passes through Lumen towers, you
can enjoy the studious ethos that Mark has developed here over their decade in
operation.
