There's something in the water. There certainly was according to Dr Richard Russell, whose fantastically titled Glandular Diseases, or a Dissertation on the Use of Sea Water in the Affections of the Glands paved the way for the formation of Brighton as we know it today, giving the green light to hoards of Georgian movers and shakers to come and try out our water.
 
Since then, we've seen Mods, Rockers, Rock, Fish, Chips, Piers and all the other stereotypes you associate with our city.
 
It's a fertile ground for the imagination, new media, old media, designers, TV production companies, record labels, the full creative gamut inhabit these shores, and you'd be hard pressed to walk down the street for 10 minutes without seeing someone carrying a musical instrument of some kind. All kinds of creativity indexes and media professionals per capita rate Brighton near the top of the pile, and the city certainly isn't afraid to express itself.
 
Famous for being a very musically eclectic place, all Lumen's staff have been based here for over 10 years, so the city's broad spectrum of sounds has rubbed off on us more than a little!
